The Computer-Based Tests
Test Questions and Time Allowed
The table that follows shows the specific time allowed for each test and the number of scored questions on each test. The number of scored questions, the information covered, the test difficulty, and the passing standards of the computer-based tests are identical to the corresponding paper/pencil tests. While the paper/pencil tests may include up to ten additional non-scored questions for research purposes, the computer-based tests do not include any extra questions.
Special Requirements for Some Tests
To register for a recertification test, you must have previously passed the regular version of that test. To register for the L1 or L1R Advanced Level tests, you must be currently certified in A8 Engine Performance and have documented at least two years of hands-on experience.
