The ASE Study Guides
| ASE’s Study Guides are designed to help you gauge your test readiness and focus your preparation. Each Catalog—there’s one for each test series—provides a detailed roadmap of the individual tests, and includes sample questions and suggestions for further preparation.
Begin by reviewing the Test Specifications Section to get a quick overview of what’s covered on each test: the number of questions and the major content areas. Sample Questions are included. These are mainly to give you a quick sense of the tests and the types of questions you will encounter.
Focus your efforts on the Task Lists that follow. These lists may look daunting but they merely tell you what’s behind each content area. ASE’s tests are directly tied to the day-to-day tasks a working professional typically encounters on the job. Read each task list to see what’s covered on each test and how many questions to expect and in which areas.
Then as you review each task, think about your workday. If you don't have an understanding of a specific skill, put a check mark next to it. Be honest with yourself. The check marks will represent areas that you will need to focus on for preparation. When you’re done, you should know whether you need a quick review or more focused training.
Training Resources are included at the end of each study guide for those who need additional study or training. For more on training sources, click here to view the Test Preparation page.
