Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) - Paper/Pencil Testing
Test takers who have been professionally diagnosed with a physical or mental impairment as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act may receive assistance when taking the tests. To request special arrangements at the Test Center, follow the steps below:
1. Enclose current documentation (prepared within the last five years) of your disability from a qualified professional whose credentials are appropriate to the disability (e.g., physician for physical disability, learning disability specialist or psychologist for learning disability) with your completed Registration Form and fees. The letter must state the nature of your disability and how the functional limits of the disability are related to test-taking activity.
2. Include with your documentation specific detail requesting what type of assistance you will need (e.g., wheelchair access, large-type test booklet, sign language interpreter for instructions).
3. If you have questions regarding the requested documentation, call ASE/ACT at (319) 337-1510 before sending your registration form and request.
