Automotive Service Professionals Week 2010

Fifth annual Automotive Service Professionals Week announced; event founded to acknowledge skill and dedication of auto service professionals.

Leesburg, Va., June 18, 2010 - The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) continued a special recognition program now in its fifth year and declared June 7-13, 2010, as National Automotive Service Professionals Week. This year ASE joined with businesses and governments across the nation by honoring 136 technicians in the city of Leesburg, Va, location of the company’s corporate headquarters.

Amber Daves, Marketing Services Specialist for ASE, represented the organization in visits to local dealerships and independent repair shops to recognize all of their technicians. Among these were approximately 44 ASE-certified technicians and 21 ASE Master certified technicians. These individuals were presented with either a silver ASE Automotive Professional lapel pin or a gold ASE Master Professional lapel pin.

The Tire Shop, Leesburg's only current Blue Seal Recognized Shop, set up a booth for Daves to hand out information on automotive maintenance and the importance of technician certification to customers. (The Blue Seal Recognition Program is ASE’s elite recognition for repair establishments with a high percentage of ASE-certified professionals and is awarded to businesses striving to be the best and willing to prove their commitment to professionalism.) ASE would like to thank all of its supporters and the dealerships and shops of Leesburg for making this year’s National Automotive Services Professionals Week a great success in its hometown.

Incorporated on June 12, 1972, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists. Today, there are nearly 400,000 ASE-certified professionals at work in dealerships, independent shops, service stations, collision repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets, machine shops, schools and colleges throughout the country.
