11/28/2017 - 47 Technicians Honored at ASE Annual Meeting

Leesburg, VA, November 28, 2017 – Forty-seven automotive professionals were recognized on November 15, 2017, at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) held at the Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego, California. The annual awards banquet spotlights top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests. Thirty-six different companies from both OEM and Aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the Auto, Truck, Collision, Parts and Service categories, along with awards for automotive instructors. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service and other factors when selecting honorees.

11/27/2017 - Refrigerant Sales Restriction
Compounds the Need for Section 609 Credentials

LEESBURG, Virginia, November 27, 2017 – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) today announced that EPA Section 609 credentials will have additional importance heading into the new year. Starting January 1, 2018, the EPA will require Section 609 credentials to purchase non-ozone-depleting refrigerants such as R-134a and R-1234yf. This requirement was originally imposed on R-12 and now applies to these newer refrigerants. The requirement for Section 609 credentials applies to sales of refrigerant containers 2 lbs. and larger.

10/6/2017 - ATMC Announces 2017 National Excellence in Training Award Winners

LEESBURG, Virginia, October 6, 2017 – The Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) is pleased to announce the 2017 winners of the prestigious ATMC National Excellence in Training Awards, naming the submission by Motor Coach Industries as the Grand Award winner, with awards also going to a collaborative effort between General Motors and Raytheon Professional Services and to Bosch Automotive Service Solutions.

LEESBURG, Virginia, August 1, 2017 – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is pleased to announce changes that will offer an enhanced experience for professionals when taking tests to earn ASE certification. These changes to the computer test format are effective at Prometric test sites August 1, 2017.

LEESBURG, Virginia, March 10, 2017 – The ASE Industry Education Alliance will hold its 4th annual Instructor Training Conference on July 23-26, 2017, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Concord, North Carolina. 

1/20/2017 - ASE Launches New Practice Tests

LEESBURG, VA, January 19, 2017 – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) launched four new ASE practice tests today. The new practice tests are for the Medium/Heavy Truck series covering the specialty areas of the Diesel Engines (T2), Brakes (T4), Electrical/Electronic Systems (T6) and Preventive Maintenance Inspection (T8) tests. ASE Practice Tests for the remaining four tests in this series will be available later this year.

1/19/2017 - ATMC Announces New Officers and Directors for 2017

LEESBURG, VA, January 18, 2017 – The Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) has announced its new officers and directors for 2017.  The new Chair is Chris Chesney, Senior Director, Customer Training, Advance Auto Parts - CARQUEST Technical Institute. Other officers are Treasurer, Ron Kato, Technical and Body Training Manager, Toyota Motor North America; Secretary, Tim Zilke, President & CEO, ASE; and Past Chair, Holly Gerke, Director of Technical Training, Penske Truck Leasing.
