2/27/2018 - S/P2 Partners with ASE and ASE Education Foundation to Provide Mentoring Program for the Automotive Industry

OVERLAND PARK, KAN., February 27, 2018 – The ASE Education Foundation and S/P2 announce a partnership to develop and distribute The Workplace Mentoring System, a mentoring program for the automotive industry. The program is designed to help businesses identify and train service personnel to become mentors to students and entry-level employees. This program will be available to the entire industry: automotive service, medium/heavy truck, and collision repair and refinishing.

2/14/2018 - NATEF and AYES Formed New Organization: ASE Education Foundation

Leesburg, VA, February 13, 2018 -- Effective January 1, 2018, the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and the Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) have merged to become the ASE Education Foundation.

1/5/2018 - New Name for Training Managers Council

Leesburg, VA, January 5, 2018 – Effective immediately, the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) has changed its name to the ASE Training Managers Council. The name change reflects the affiliation the Council has with ASE as well as an overall rebranding of all organizations affiliated with ASE. The name change was made by unanimous vote of the ATMC Board of Directors to take advantage of the high brand awareness of ASE among consumer, industry and education audiences.

11/28/2017 - 47 Technicians Honored at ASE Annual Meeting

Leesburg, VA, November 28, 2017 – Forty-seven automotive professionals were recognized on November 15, 2017, at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) held at the Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego, California. The annual awards banquet spotlights top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests. Thirty-six different companies from both OEM and Aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the Auto, Truck, Collision, Parts and Service categories, along with awards for automotive instructors. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service and other factors when selecting honorees.

11/27/2017 - Refrigerant Sales Restriction
Compounds the Need for Section 609 Credentials

LEESBURG, Virginia, November 27, 2017 – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) today announced that EPA Section 609 credentials will have additional importance heading into the new year. Starting January 1, 2018, the EPA will require Section 609 credentials to purchase non-ozone-depleting refrigerants such as R-134a and R-1234yf. This requirement was originally imposed on R-12 and now applies to these newer refrigerants. The requirement for Section 609 credentials applies to sales of refrigerant containers 2 lbs. and larger.

10/6/2017 - ATMC Announces 2017 National Excellence in Training Award Winners

LEESBURG, Virginia, October 6, 2017 – The Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) is pleased to announce the 2017 winners of the prestigious ATMC National Excellence in Training Awards, naming the submission by Motor Coach Industries as the Grand Award winner, with awards also going to a collaborative effort between General Motors and Raytheon Professional Services and to Bosch Automotive Service Solutions.

LEESBURG, Virginia, August 1, 2017 – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is pleased to announce changes that will offer an enhanced experience for professionals when taking tests to earn ASE certification. These changes to the computer test format are effective at Prometric test sites August 1, 2017.
