1/10/2019 - ATMC Announces 2019 New Officers and Directors

LEESBURG, Virginia, January 10, 2019 – The ASE Training Managers Council (ATMC) has announced the new officers and members for its 2019 Board of Directors. The new Chair is Jim Goepfrich, Owner, JAD Enterprises; Vice Chair is Laura Lyons, President, ATech Training; Treasurer is Ken Benson, Training Field Operations Manager, Subaru of America Training; and Secretary is Tim Zilke, President-CEO, National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Ron Kato, Technical Training Manager, Toyota Motor North America, serves as Past Chair.

1/2/2019 - Staff Changes at ASE and ASE Education Foundation

LEESBURG, Virginia, January 2, 2019 -- ASE and the ASE Education Foundation have announced the following staff changes effective January 1, 2019. After seven years of leading the Education Foundation, Trish Serratore has decided to transition to part-time status and will move back to ASE as Senior Vice President of Communications. ASE Senior Vice President Mike Coley will take over her position as President of the ASE Education Foundation.

11/20/2018 - 52 Technicians Honored at ASE Annual Meeting

Leesburg, VA, November 20, 2018 – Fifty-two automotive professionals were recognized on November 14, 2018, at the Fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) held at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel and Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The annual awards banquet spotlights top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests. Forty-one companies from both OEM and Aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards in the Auto, Truck, Collision, Parts and Service categories, along with awards for automotive instructors. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, award sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service and other factors when selecting honorees.

10/11/2018 - ATMC Announces 2018 National Excellence in Training Award Winners

LEESBURG, Virginia, October 11, 2018 – The ASE Training Managers Council (ATMC) is pleased to announce the 2018 winners of the prestigious ATMC National Excellence in Training Awards, naming the submission by Motor Coach Industries as the Grand Award winner, with awards also going to Bridgestone Retail Operations and to Shell Oil Company.

6/27/2018 - ASE Education Foundation Updates Guide for New Automotive Instructors

LEESBURG, VA, June 27, 2018 –  The ASE Education Foundation has expanded its online automotive instructor guide targeted toward those exploring a career transition to becoming an instructor as well as new instructors. Units covering advisory committees and student placement have just been added to the existing resources. The New Instructor Guide is free and was developed through grants from Ingersoll Rand and the National Network of Business and Industry Associations.

5/3/2018 - ATMC Holds 44th Annual Conference in Atlanta

Leesburg, VA, May 3, 2018 – Members of the ASE Training Managers Council (ATMC) gathered in Atlanta for the group's 44th annual conference (held April 11-13) to share their collective knowledge, look into the future of how people will learn, and enjoy a unique networking opportunity for the transportation training industry. With almost 80% of the membership attending, about a third of the participants were from the OE realm, a third from the aftermarket, and a third from training vendors, software developers, publishers, industry organizations, and others who serve the training industry.

2/27/2018 - S/P2 Partners with ASE and ASE Education Foundation to Provide Mentoring Program for the Automotive Industry

OVERLAND PARK, KAN., February 27, 2018 – The ASE Education Foundation and S/P2 announce a partnership to develop and distribute The Workplace Mentoring System, a mentoring program for the automotive industry. The program is designed to help businesses identify and train service personnel to become mentors to students and entry-level employees. This program will be available to the entire industry: automotive service, medium/heavy truck, and collision repair and refinishing.

2/14/2018 - NATEF and AYES Formed New Organization: ASE Education Foundation

Leesburg, VA, February 13, 2018 -- Effective January 1, 2018, the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and the Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) have merged to become the ASE Education Foundation.

1/5/2018 - New Name for Training Managers Council

Leesburg, VA, January 5, 2018 – Effective immediately, the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) has changed its name to the ASE Training Managers Council. The name change reflects the affiliation the Council has with ASE as well as an overall rebranding of all organizations affiliated with ASE. The name change was made by unanimous vote of the ATMC Board of Directors to take advantage of the high brand awareness of ASE among consumer, industry and education audiences.
