9/29/2016 - NATEF Introduces Guide for New Automotive Instructors

LEESBURG, VA, September 2016 – The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) has developed an online guide targeted toward automotive technicians who are interested in transitioning to an instructor role. The guide covers such teaching topics as lesson planning, lesson delivery, student assessment and useful resources for new instructors. The NATEF New Instructor Guide, which is available free to all instructors, was developed through a grant from Ingersoll Rand.

8/24/2016 - ASE Industry Education Alliance Recognizes Outstanding Instructors at Annual Conference

August 24, 2016, Leesburg, VA – The ASE Industry Education Alliance held its 3rd annual instructor conference last month in Concord, NC. With more than 300 automotive instructors, industry trainers and leaders in attendance, the conference offered three full days of training that count toward an instructor’s NATEF accreditation. Industry leaders, including both OEs and aftermarkets, supported the instructor conference, which ran from July 25th through 29th.

2/4/2016 - New Requirement Coming for ASE Master Truck Techs

LEESBURG, VA, February 4, 2016  –  In response to changing Federal tracking and reporting standards, as well as industry requests, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) will be adding the Preventive Maintenance and Inspection (PMI) test (Test T8) to the requirements for ASE Master Truck Technicians. The new requirement will take effect on January 1, 2017. At that time, technicians will need to pass T8 along with the currently required tests (T2 through T7) to earn the Master Truck designation.
