FIRST STUDENT'S ASE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
First Student is committed to being the industry leader in school bus maintenance. To achieve this goal, we need highly skilled technicians. We are working on training programs to increase the skill level of our technicians. It is equally important that our current and potential customers see us as a step above the competition or their current maintenance department.
First Student recognizes the effort and hard work it takes to achieve this recognition. As a result, we offer an ASE Certification Incentive Bonus package for employees who wish to increase their knowledge and skill level.
The First Student ASE Certification Program revolves around these test series:
Automobile & Light Truck (A-Series)

Collision Repair & Refinish (B-Series)

School Bus (S-Series)

Advanced Specialist (L-Series)

For complete program details, refer to SOP AP002 located on the First Student Maintenance site.
*To become certified, you must pass one or more of the certification tests and have eligible work experience on file with ASE. In some cases, formal training can substitute for part of the work experience requirement.
All technicians, TIC, and SM positions are recommended to be ASE certified for shop locations. To redeem the First Student ASE Certification Test Reimbursement, submit a receipt showing you were present for the test. No reimbursement will be given for a “missed” test appointment. First Student employees have access to free study guides materials through MotorAge Training.
