The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “Analyzing Water Pump Failures.”

In this webinar, Frank Woodson from the Gates Corporation will explore the root causes of water pump failures. Some of the discussion topics include:

  • Why do water pumps fail prematurely
  • What are the factors that will influence how well a water pump works in a particular system
  • What do water pump failures look like and how do they happen
  • What participants need to know about cooling systems and what steps can they take to make sure these failures do not occur

Other topics that will be covered include a review of water pump warranty issues, warranty sort statistics on failure modes, make up of coolant and why it matters, independent testing to investigate mixed coolants, understanding the parts and pieces of a water pump and why it matters, a discussion on electrolysis and flushing cooling systems.
