Leesburg, Virginia – June 11, 2024 – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has designated June as Automotive Service Professionals Month (ASPM) to bring recognition and awareness to the outstanding individuals who maintain and repair vehicles from coast to coast.
“Technicians, counter people and service consultants are true professionals, and these essential careers have become more critical as vehicle technologies have increased in complexity,” said Donna Wagner, ASE vice president. “Our goal with Automotive Service Professionals Month is to celebrate these hard-working, knowledgeable and essential professionals that are an integral part of our economy because of the jobs they perform.”
Highlighting service repair professionals in a shop’s marketing communications shows customers that the shop has quality employees who perform quality work. While ASPM is the ideal time to recognize the technicians that keep their vehicles on the road safely, it is also a time for the industry to applaud the professionals throughout the supply chain that service professionals rely upon.
“ASPM is most beneficial to automotive repair facilities, parts distributors and other industry organizations when they use June as a time to bring attention to their employees,” said Wagner. “In today’s market, retention of employees is just as important as the recruitment of new ones. Taking the opportunity to celebrate ASPM and really thanking your employees goes a long way to making them feel valued.”
ASE has a free online tool kit with a special ASPM section that gives repair shops, parts suppliers and industry organizations access to ASE marketing assets for use in their own communications.
