ASE CERTIFICATION FOR SUBARU TECHNICIANS
When combined with Subaru training requirements, ASE Certifications help Subaru’s retailer technicians possess the necessary skills to "Fix It Right the First Time."
This combined with completion of the Subaru training path, help drive an exceptional customer experience everyday at every retailer.
WHY ASE?
- ASE is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive professionals.

- By displaying ASE Certification and Subaru training accomplishments, you instill customer confidence in your store and Subaru vehicles.

FAQ
If you have never registered for an ASE test, visit ASE.com and select the Create myASE Account link in the myASE login box. You will then be prompted through several screens to provide information about yourself to set up your account.
Subaru and ASE have an agreement to allow ASE Certification status to transfer into Subaru’s learning management system. To enable the transfer of your ASE credentials to Subaru, you must:
- Log in to your myASE account.
- Select the Profile tab.
- Select the "Release my ASE status to others" checkbox and then select the Submit button.
- You must also add your Subaru Training ID to your myASE profile. (To do that, see the next question and answer.)
Creating a myASE account is simple. Making sure you have your Subaru Id on file and Release = OK is not always as simple.
If you have already created a myASE account, then:
- Log in to your myASE account.
- Select Company-Assigned ID.
- Select the Add Company-Assigned ID button.
- Select Subaru from the Company drop-down menu and enter your Subaru Training ID (usually four letters and four numbers, similar to jsmi1234 or 5678bjon) and then select Submit.
- Select the Profile tab to review your information and check on your release status. Confirm that your information is correct.
- Select the "Release my ASE status to others" checkbox and then select the Submit button.
- Log in to your myASE account.
- Select Store link.
- Select the checkbox(s) for the ASE Certification Test(s) for which you wish to register.
- After going through several prompts, you can schedule your appointment. If you have multiple tests to schedule, you may also select the "Select All" checkbox.
- Then you can Find the Test Center that is most convenient for you and select the Schedule an Appointment link to find available locations.
- Once you have scheduled your test appointments you will be directed to an Appointment Confirmation page where you should see the correct date/time for your ASE Certification test(s). Select either the Print Registration Ticket button to print your registration ticket, or select Continue to complete the registration process.
The results from ASE are imported from ASE on a weekly basis, but it can take up to two weeks for the Center of Learning to receive certification results after completion. If you have already provided ASE with your Subaru Training ID and checked the “Release my ASE Status to others” in myASE and your records have not transferred, please contact ASE at (703) 669-6600.

ASE certification promotes good automotive service. It’s also part of a great business strategy.
You probably already know that one of your biggest assets is your people — and one of your best competitive advantages is the confidence your customers place in your technicians.
When your technicians have ASE certification, it shows that your technicians know what they’re doing — and that they’re also a step above the average technician. That’s good for your customer’s peace of mind, and great for your business. Helping your employees become certified is also an excellent way to allow them to develop in their careers — and that can increase employee loyalty.
As a savvy business owner, you can go even further. If more than 75% of your technicians are ASE certified, you can qualify for the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program. This high-impact program allows you to maximize customer awareness of your focus on quality personnel, with ready-to-use marketing materials, advertising opportunities, and more.
